"From One Rose" Motion Picture ScreeningStay tuned for further details on an annual screening of the Portland Rose Festival's feature film, "From One Rose." Also available for sale on DVD, "From One Rose" is a cinematic journey through the life of a woman born at the turn of the century in Portland, Oregon, who grows up with the Rose Festival. Viewers will experience the evolution of a wild west stump town into a modern metropolis - Portland, one of the country's most livable cities - through the Roaring 20s, the Great Depression, two world wars and the baby boomer generation up to the 21st Century. Shawn Levy, film critic for The Oregonian, calls it "...a meditation on the intricate ways in which history affects communities and individuals at one and the same time. And it explores that notion in such handsome and intelligent fashion that it absorbed even a parade-averse cynic such as me."
