Parade Seating for the Disabled for 2008

The Portland Rose Festival -- in cooperation with the City of Portland and TriMet -- will be offering several locations along the KeyBank Grand Floral Parade route for special needs seating.

Special Needs Locations

Oregon Convention Center (777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard)

June 6 Update!!!
Space is still available for the OCC seating area, but we are no longer taking advance requests. To access the seating area, go directly to the South end of the Oregon Convention Center property on parade morning. Parade-goers with special needs seating will be admitted as space remains available. Chairs will be provided, with outside food and beverages permitted.

Please note that parking is NOT included -- arrival by TriMet is encouraged.

East side of SW Broadway between Yamhill & Morrison

Priority seating for the disabled and elderly is available on a first-come first-served basis on parade morning along Broadway at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Guests must bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on, chairs will not be provided. Arrival by MAX light rail to the Pioneer Courthouse Square stop is encouraged.

Northwest corner of SW 10th Avenue and Yamhill

Priority seating for the disabled and elderly is available on a first-come first-served basis on parade morning along SW 10th Avenue near the Multnomah County Central Library. Guests must bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on -- chairs will not be provided. There is access to garage parking (for a fee) nearby in SmartPark at 730 SW 10th Avenue. Platforms for MAX light rail and the Portland Streetcar are nearby, arrival by TriMet or Portland Streetcar is encouraged.

Parking Information

Convention Center Garage

Parking is available. Specific instructions for accessing Convention Center parking will be mailed with requested passes, and parking will be limited to vehicles with a state-issued disabled placard, whose occupants hold passes for the seating area.

Rose Quarter Parking Garages

From 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on parade day for $8 per car.
Vehicles must arrive at the Rose Quarter prior to 8:00 a.m., as access to Rose Quarter parking garages is blocked to clear the parade route. To avoid traffic and parking, please use Tri-Met.

Other Parking Locations

Vehicles with disabled parking permits may park on a first-come, first-served basis at the following locations:

  • North side of NE Oregon from Grand to 7th
  • Both sides of NE Irving from Grand to 6th
  • SW 9th Avenue between Stark and Oak
