Regence Grand Floral Walk
Join us on parade morning for the Regence Grand Floral Walk - a fun, fitness parade through the streets of downtown Portland. It's your time to shine amidst the floral festivities of Grand Floral Parade day! This is the perfect event for you and your co-workers, friends, neighbors, club pals and fitness friends to attend. There is no better way to get motivated than by walking in front of about 500,000 cheering people as you enjoy your workout. TV cameras will also be on during the morning's event.
Charity
Support the Dougy Center
A portion of each registration will go to benefit The Dougy Center. The Dougy Center provides support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults and their families grieving a death can share their experiences.
Route
The four-mile walk route is also the route of the 2012 Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade, leaving from the Memorial Coliseum. The Hillsboro High School marching band will lead you past nearly half a million spectators who will cheer you on as you enjoy your own 'fitness parade.' You can opt to do a two-mile portion of the course and exit and return to the formation area in northwest Portland. Please bring your own water bottle and other equipment to take you through a two or four-mile walking event. There will be no water stations available on course.
Parade Viewing
Once you have completed the course, you will have a chance to view the Grand Floral Parade at a special Walk viewing section near SW 12th and Taylor streets. Space will be available on a first come, first served basis ONLY for walkers identified with a participant bib number.
Grand Floral Walk - Training Walk
The Regence Grand Floral Walk is Portland's fitness parade, with 500,000 fans lining the streets to cheer you on! WALKERS, come to Fit Right NW (located in Portland: 2258 NW Raleigh AND Vancouver: 700 Southeast 160th Avenue #111) on these dates for a 5K or 10K training walk departing from the stores.
Thursday, April 19 - 6:00 p.m. in Portland
Thursday, May 3 - 6:00 p.m. in Portland
Saturday, May 5 - 8:00 a.m. in Portland
Thursday, May 31 - 6:00 p.m. in Vancouver
Festival representatives will be on hand offering souvenirs and door prizes for those who register for the Regence Grand Floral Walk (on Saturday, June 9) in the store.
Floral Fun and Prizes
Add flowers to your attire for the chance to win great prizes in our Flower Power Costume Contest! Real and artificial flowers are welcomed. Prizes will be awarded for Best Individual, Best Group, and Best Decorated Stroller.
Souvenirs
Every participant will receive a souvenir t-shirt and other special items on Walk morning, including a 2012 Rose Festival pin, good for free admission to Rose Festival CityFair through June 10!
